Mohamed Zahir Alimohamed is a trained Molecular Biologist and Biotechnologist. He is currently pursuing a PhD in medical genetics in The Netherlands and Tanzania, studying the use of next generation sequencing in clinical diagnostics of genetic disorders. He is currently a board member of the African Society of Human Genetics, eLife community ambassador 2019 (representing Africa and Europe) and a co-founder and interim secretary general of the Tanzania Society of Human Genetics.
